Publish your help center: URL or JavaScript embed
Two ways to put your help center in front of customers — and how embed keys work.
Two ways to put your help center in front of customers — and how embed keys work.
Once your articles are ready and the site is marked Published, there are two ways to expose it. The How to publish button in the editor walks you through both.
Option 1 — the hosted URL
Your help center lives at your own Lunadesk subdomain (shown in the editor's top bar). Link to it from your store footer, order-confirmation emails and chat signatures. Zero setup.
Option 2 — embed it on your own site
The same script that powers the chat widget can render the full help center inside any page of yours:
<div id="lunadesk-help"></div>
<script>
window.lunadesk = window.lunadesk || function () {
(window.lunadesk.q = window.lunadesk.q || []).push(arguments);
};
lunadesk('helpCenter', '#lunadesk-help', { helpKey: 'hk_YOUR_KEY' });
</script>
<script src="https://app.lunadesk.ai/api/v1/widget/v1/widget.js" defer async></script>The embed auto-sizes to its content and follows internal navigation.

chrome: true— keeps the site's header and footer for full-page embeds.
The embed key
hk_… keys are public and rotatable. Rotating one (from the How to publish dialog) instantly disables every snippet using the old key, without touching your content.
Chat and help center stay independent. Use either one alone, or both together with a single script tag.
Contextual links
Point any element of your site at a specific article — no JavaScript required:
<a href="#" data-lunadesk-article="returns">How do returns work?</a>Share the hosted URL, or embed it on your own site.
